Is FaceTime HIPAA compliant?
No
In March 2020, HHS listed FaceTime as an acceptable non-public-facing app only under COVID-19 enforcement discretion, which expired on May 11, 2023, with a transition period ending on August 9, 2023. Apple's iCloud terms bar covered entities from using iCloud for PHI, and we found no Apple BAA for FaceTime.
